One thing you are going to have to change to find freedom from sin is who you hang out with. If you are a drug addict for example you don't need to keep hanging out with your friends who also do drugs because they will just pull you right back in to the trap of sin. the other thing you have to do to find true freedom from sin is repent. you have to turn to Jesus for only he can set you free. By setting you free he also gives you a whole new life which is why you have to turn away from your friends that you had that helped you sin or tempted you to sin because if you still hang around with them you will be pulled right back into the trap that is sin. I know changing your friends is radical but you have to for the bible says in Hebrews chapter 12  ¹Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. ²Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
